About
My name is Libe Echarri. I have completed a certificate program in Digital Lighting for careers in Live Action Visual Effects & Animated Feature Film Production in Lost Boys - School Of VFX (Vancouver). Also, I have an Interior Design and Graphic Design Degree accomplished in ESNE, University School of Design, Innovation and Technology (Spain).
I started my career as Lighting Artist in Mikros Animation on the The SpongeBob movie: Sponge on the Run. As a Junior Artist, I worked in baby shots, where my main duty was to create rim and fill lights for the characters to make them pop up from the background and shape them creating volume. we used Katana and Nuke, and my contract ended at the same time that the movie did.
After that, I started a new adventure in ICON Creative Studio as a Junior Lighting/Compositing and here is where I became an Intermediate artist. I worked in Supernatural Academy TV show. We did the lighting in Maya as well as the compositing in Nuke. I learnt managing the time and speed to reach the shot quota per day. In this company I also had the opportunity to work in Transformers: EarthSpark and Rocket Club. When my contract was ending I had the chance to move to live action, so that is what I did.
Looking to challenge my skills, I took the opportunity to work in a live action movie Pinocchio in MPC Studios. Lighting in Katana and compositing in Nuke, I learn how to create more realistic lighting matching the plates. After this experience, I realized that I loved animation more, so I moved to Cinesite.
So, in Cinesite, I worked in the episodic Iwaju and also had the occasion to work in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The ninja turtles was a challenging project, because the artistic look was very specific. But I really learnt a lot about compositing and how to achieve the characters and environments desired look, matching the color keys and keeping the comps light. We used Gaffer for lighting and Nuke for compositing. Sadly, after finishing the turtles, my contract ended so I moved to Stellar Creative Lab.
In Stellar Creative Lab, I worked on the TV show Sausage Party: Foodtopia. Working in Katana and Nuke, this project was fun and fast paced.
In addition to the obvious skills in Katana, Gaffer, Maya and Nuke, also, I have experience working with Arnold, Renderman and V-Ray renderers, acquiring reasonable knowledge.
I am a very motivated person and fast learner. Also, I have a good ability for time management and I'm always looking the way to improve myself and keep expanding my knowledge.
I am from Spain and I have been living in Canada for more than eight years now. I am Canadian Citizenship and I have an English professional proficiency.
